Supporting Life's First Moments through
Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond
A Note from Brit
Welcome to Your Pregnancy Journey
Congratulations on your pregnancy.
I am dedicated to providing personalised evidence-based care that supports you and your whanau throughout pregnancy, birth and the early weeks of parenthood. I believe that every family deserves to feel respected, informed and supported as they make decisions about their care and prepare to welcome their baby.
My approach is centred on building strong relationships and creating a safe, trusting environment where you feel confident to ask questions and make choice that are right for you. I am passionate about supporting physiological birth while ensuring you have access to the information, resources and specialist care you may need along the way.
As both a midwife and a mother, I understand the pregnancy and birth are unique experiences. It is a privilege to be invited into this special chapter of your life and to support you through the many milestones that lie ahead. I would love to hear from you and discuss how I can support you throughout your pregnancy journey.

A Note from Sophie
Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I feel privileged to be able to support you and your whanau in this special time in your life! I am passionate about supporting you to feel empowered and well informed in making decisions that are right for you. I am a huge advocate for normal birth, supporting women to trust themselves as we work in partnership to achieve this. I understand that this might not be everyone path I am also happy to attend caesarean sections and provide midwifery care collaboratively with the obstetric team.
I have previously worked in Palmerston North Hospital as a core midwife and have been with the midwives at Heretaunga Midwifery Centre since 2024.
If I should like the right fit for you and you whanau, please fill out the form below and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
"Heretaunga midwives were amazing for me and my whanau. They always listen to everything we had to say and anything we wanted to know they answered. I was given great information especially at the end of our pregnancy when things did go as we planned. I never once felt anxious or worried, I honestly couldn't fault anything while we were under their care."
